Cellular and Molecular Research Center, Research Institute for Health Development, Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences, Sanandaj, Iran
The cellular and molecular research center (CMRC) of Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences was established to produce induced pluripotent stem cells (IPS) in the form of research projects and higher education dissertations in Sanandaj University of Medical Sciences using the scientific and specialized abilities of prominent professors and equipped laboratories in fields of cell and molecule cultivation, transgenic, proteomics and genetic engineering in cell culture, adult and fetal stem cells and their differentiation. The center was initially approved by the ministry of health, treatment and medical education in 2004 with the title of "the cellular and molecular research center". In addition, a center was established in April 2012 for production of transgenic mice and different gene knockouts.
A substantive agreement was reached on the establishment of CMRC on February 7th, 2016 by the ministry of health after several visits and assessment of documents of the center.
